Bounce Rate is shown as a percentage and is worked out by how many visitors come on to your website and perform an action on the first page. This action can be like clicking on a link to another page on your site.

The term Bounce Rate is used frequently within marketing because it’s a vital ranking factor in search engines that a lot of businesses overlook. So why is it a ranking factor? It lets Google know that your page is valuable enough that visitors go onto more pages on your site. But in simple terms, Google will know if your page holds valuable information for the search query, so if your bounce rate is low then Google will think your page isn’t relative enough for that ranking keyword.
